Benefits of Mexican Food


Traditional Mexican food is flavorful and nutritious. Mexican recipes are easy to make and offers great taste to the food lovers. Different Mexican spices and herbs are used in Mexican food to get the desired flavors. These spices and herbs are essential part of Mexican recipes. 
Chili powder is most commonly used in Mexican cuisine. It is mixture of different ground and dried chilies. Chilies can be used as roasted or fresh. Generally, Chili powder is a blend of salt, oregano, chilies, coriander, cumin and chilies.  
Annatto seeds can be used to add yellow coloring or a distinctive flavor to a dish. These seeds are often added to rice dishes and sauces. The crushed seeds are used in the marinades. Cilantro, the leaves of coriander plant are always fresh. Although its flavor as little pungent but it adds a tanginess to the dish. It is mostly used in beans, rice, salsas, stews, soups and moles. Mostly it is used to brighten up the taste of several dishes. The cumin plant seeds are also used in Mexican food. Mostly it is used with chili powder to add a balanced flavor to the recipe. Cumin seeds are also used in stews, soups and several other dishes. Azafron or Mexican saffron is used to add color and flavor to a dish.    
Traditionally, spices are consumed along with thyme and oregano in the Mexican food. To get a true Mexican flavor, always use Mexican oregano instead of commonly used Italian oregano. Food lovers can enjoy the Mexican food a lot more by learning about the correct use of Mexican spices.

Traditional Mexican recipes


There is very little resemblance between the Mexican food prepared in Mexico and Mexican recipes that are prepared in US. Mexico is a vast country so there is a great regional difference between food served in Veracruz and Yucatan.
Mole sauce is more included in traditional Mexican recipes found in the Puebla area. This mole sauce is prepared from a spicy, thick and herbal sauce containing chocolate. It is used for pouring over chicken or turkey. Typical Oaxaca coffee is prepared by adding bananas to the mole sauce. Oranges are used for preparing sauces for meat and fish. Rather, in this area, food is served in a banana leaf. Mostly seafood and fish are served for lunch and dinner in Veracruz. Here in this region, fish filled taco is served with chilies, olives and tomatoes.  
Mexican food offers something for everybody whether you prefer meat, poultry, fish, or vegetarian food. Wide range of Mexican recipes is offered to the food lovers to eat according to their taste and style. Different Mexican spices are used add unique taste to the recipes. Bell peppers or mild chili peppers can be used to prepare a mild-spicy food. Mexican spices are also greatly beneficial for the health as they offer certain protection against the different diseases. On the whole, Mexican food offers wide range of recipes and unique taste for the food lovers.

Delicious Mexican food



Mexican food is a fine fusion of old tradition and migration. Beans, corn and peppers were known to be the staple food of early Aztecs and Mayans. Rather, typical Mexican cuisine is extremely varied and tasty and colorful.  Most of the Mexican recipes are prepared with the basic ingredients like corn, rice and beans. The cornerstone is used in every Mexican recipe from tacos and enchiladas, to desserts and soups. Dried beans are another Mexican staple food. They can be fried or boiled. Rice is widely popular and prepared with incorporate herbs, hot oils and even mixed with sugar for preparing a local drink.  
Jalapenos are the most popular, spicy and hot varieties of chili peppers. They can be used in numerous different ways. Salsa is the most popular element that emerged from Mexican cuisine to American society. Mostly people referred it as the Mexican version of tomato ketchup made from different raw ingredients. Citrus fruits brought by the Spanish have really added great taste and color to the Mexican dishes. Cojjto cheese is also a fine example of dairy food introduced the Spanish.   
Different Mexican spices and herbs mixed with different main ingredients and supplements offers great recipes. Mexican spices also offers great health benefits to the food lovers. Canella has stimulant, tonic, or antibacterial effects. Mexican spices and herbs really add to taste of the food along with offering different health benefits.

Traditional Mexican spices


Spices and herbs are consumed in several different recipes all around the world. Generally, colorful and flavorful recipes are more popular among the food lovers. Mexican spices and herbs are used to add unique flavors and mouth-watering aromas to the recipes.  
Mostly, different types of Mexican spices and herbs are used in traditional and modern Mexican recipes. Chilies are available in wide ranges of sizes, types and heat levels. They are added to the recipes for creating a flavorful and tasty snack or meal. Different chilies can be added for creating different flavors but excess use of chilies can spoil the meal. The seeds and stems are the hottest part of the chili peppers. Mexican spices are essential part of all the Mexican recipes. Garlic is quite common spice but Epazote is rather uncommon spice. Epazote also referred as ‘Mexican Tea’ adds flavor of beans to the food. It is useful against intestinal pains caused due to overindulgence in beans. It should be taken carefully as overdose or taken in large quantity can be harmful for health.  
Chili powder is another Mexican spice that is used frequently in the Mexican food. In fact, it is a mixture of various different chilies and spices.
